This art class is designed to promote artistic growth through a natural progression of art experiences. Lessons will provide “Art History”, which describes

famous artists and their art style. With each art piece, art elements and principles of design will be presented. Students will be assisted in developing

creative, individual, expression in their art.
In class we will:

*    study art elements: color, line, shape, texture.
*    use various art media: acrylic and watercolor paint/ texture painting, chalk and oil pastel, clay and paper mache sculpture, metal t00ling and yarn

art to name a few.
*    study different art “styles” of famous artists: Impressionism, Cubism, Expressionism, Abstract Art, Contemporary/Modern Art.
*    Explore several art techniques:
         Painting -Acrylic & watercolor- portraits/still life/landscape
         Sculpture/assemblage & relief
         Mosaic
         Collage
         Batik/crayon resist
         Drawing- perspective, 2 & 3 D
         Printmaking
         Pointillism
         Weaving- paper & textile

Projects may take 2 to 3 weeks to complete.

Students will need to transport their art to and from class each week.
Please purchase an under the bed plastic container (16 x 22) at Walmart for under $5.00.
